Dear Sir
Having watched professional football for 50 years I realised I was falling out of love with the game, the huge and unjustified wages, outrageous  transfer fees, the players lack of commitment to their clubs, fans and communities  led me to look elsewhere and to my delight I found Northern League football in the guise of Newton Aycliffe F C.
I started following them last year, home and away and it has rejuvenated my love for the game, nothing better on a Saturday than to set out for Morpeth, Ashington or North Shields to watch 22 players trying their best.
I also enjoy the home games at Moore Lane where you are so close to the action. I attended the  game on Tuesday to watch a very enjoyable encounter with Ashington where Steve Harmison’s brother Ben snuck a late equaliser.Newton Aycliffe played very well and despite the cold and wet it was an enjoyable evening’s football. Why don’t you give it a try?
Regards
Paul Trippett
