With regard to the removal of A167 lights – my initial thoughts are not whether the lights should be removed or not but how much it will cost for them to be taken down, including traffic disruption, against the potential saving in electricity charges?
Why not simply switch off the power and leave them in situ, after all, within the next 5 – 10 years no doubt another study will have taken place (at the tax payer’s expense) which will show the need to have lights on this road once again.
If they have been removed then we, the tax payer, will have to pay for their replacement.
