Newton Aycliffe Spartans, who play in the Adult British Baseball Federation AA Northern League will be looking for the baseball and softball stars of the future when they hold their first Baseball/Softball Summer Camp for girls and boys aged 6-16yrs over two days on Saturday 4th August 2012 and Sunday 5th August 2012.

Junior baseball and softball are two of the fastest growing team sports for kids in the UK today and both sports are starting to establish a presence in schools with over 17% of all schools offering baseball or softball as an activity. In secondary schools, this figure rises to 74% of schools.

Run by fully qualified and CRB checked coaches and supported by Durham County Council, the camp is all about the kids having fun and will teach, basic hand/eye coordination, fitness training, batting skills, team building and confidence growing and will include Inter-camp game on second day. Each day will run from 10.00am-4.00pm and costs £25 for both days.

The camp will be held on Saturday 4th August at Shildon Athletics Track, Shildon Leisure Centre and Sunday 5th August at Horndale Field, opposite Greenfield College (in Newton Aycliffe)
