Dear Sir

With reference to a letter in the Newton News dated 25th May written by A. Welsh. I would like to correct one or two “facts”.

His admiration for Jacob Reese-Mogg is commendable but he needs to be aware that Somerset North East, (Reese-Mogg’s constituency) voted to remain as did Maidenhead, Theresa May’s constituency.

Reese-Mogg has also against protecting the climate, abortion in any case, (including rape) including the use of emergency contraception. He is also anti same sex marriage. He is however pro zero hour contracts and thinks food banks are used by people simply because they can. The same people could get out of poverty by getting a job. His religious beliefs come before everything else.

He has now said that the UK could re-join Europe after Brexit. Which makes it all pointless.

I am happy to have an MP who realises that a referendum isn’t an election and is giving people a chance to change their minds now that they know the cost of proceeding, especially the money that will have to be paid to the EU when we will no longer have a vote and open borders if we still want to trade with the largest trades in the world.

There are many reasons for distrusting the result of the referendum. Keep going Phil Wilson, I wish your leader had the same strength of character.
