It was a mixed weekend for the NAJFC juniors this weekend with a lot of the games being called off due to frozen pitches.

Under 7 Whites were in action again on Saturday in the Russell Foster Youth League. The boys played well and finished the first half with a strong performance, however they couldn’t progress with the same energy in the second half and were unlucky not to gain anything from this game. Man of the match went to William.

Under 8 Whites yet again produced a very strong performance against a good Bishop side. All the boys were given praise for how well they encouraged and praised each other throughout the game. With a hat trick each for Jack R and Dom and man of the match going to Tyler for his strong performance in all 3 positions he played in for that game.

Under 8 Blacks got a great result this weekend. With 3 players missing the team were stretched, however they all pulled together for a great performance. Some great saves from keeper Jake and goals from Max 3, Benjamin 2 and one from James but the man of the match was given to Ollie for his strong defensive display.

Under 11 Blacks played away against a very strong Seaham team. The team played their hearts out, however they were just pipped to the post in this game. Aycliffe’s only goal was scored by Keaton and the man of the match award was given to Luke.

Under 14S played a third home game in a row against Sunderland RCA. The two teams were evenly matched across the game with an outstanding effort from the juniors, however Sunderland did catch Aycliffe napping slightly straight after half time with two quick fire goals. Unfortunately the juniors efforts were not enough this week and the game finished in a 3-0 defeat. Man of the match went to Callum.
