Two Aycliffe Juniors side were in action this weekend with the Under 10’s continuing the early stages of their Russell Foster League season with a game against Jarrow FC Scorpions. First up though were the Under 7’s who had a friendly against Bishop Auckland St Marys.
The under 7’s played four shortened games against the two Bishop sides (Kings and Aces). Every player gave a 100% and the format allowed each player to get involved and play different positions, whilst preparations continue for the new season. Over the course of the morning two games were won and two lost with the teams evenly matched. The NAJFC squad look forward to continuing training and feature in their first tournament next weekend.
To get involved with the Under 7’s just come along any Monday for training 6-7pm or contact Brett Lambert on 07903 718088, new players are very welcome.
An excellent display from NAJFC Under 10’s closed out the first part of their Russell Foster Division 6 season, and continued their great from last week’s victory. It was another solid performance with Matty and Oli both playing in goal for a half each and outfield Sam, Evan, Taylor, Bronton & Bo started, with Chloe, Isaac and Ted all appearing during the game.
NAJFC began quickly, with two strikes from captain Bronton giving  them an early lead, Sam then added a long range third goal.  Next Isaac scored the first of his two goals following some strong work from Oli to win the ball back in the opposition box. Bronton completed his hat-trick early in the second half, with a second goal from Isaac during a quick break, and finally a late penalty from Bo giving NAJFC a 7-0 victory. This was another excellent performance from the whole squad, with some good football and excellent teamwork giving them a third win from the first four games of the season, as we now head into the league’s summer break. This week’s captain’s player of the match was awarded to Evan with the parent’s award going to Bronton.
If you want to get involved with the Under 10 squad, who also field a team in the TJFA league, then training re-starts at Sunnydale on Thursday’s 5.45 -7pm from the 23rd July. The first six weeks back are to be led by the FA Skills coaching team. All sessions are at Sunnydale Leisure Centre and as always all new players are very welcome.
