A good weekend of games for the Aycliffe Juniors this week with some thrilling action to enjoy across the age group teams. The Under 9 Russell Foster League team played Washington in the ninth game of their winter league. Noah opened the scoring before Jack made a great save to keep the score 1-0. Jake and Jay were then on target to make it 3-0. Jake scored the fourth and sixth goals of the game either side of half time to get his hatrick. It was Kenzie who had got the fifth in a 6-0 win. Layla was the games player of the match. The Under 9 TJFA league team were away against Middleton Rangers. They opened the scoring with Jayden and Niall added the second goal. Niall then completed a first half hatrick one goal was a superb bicycle kick and Jayden scored his second with a ‘rabona’ to make it 5-0. In the second half Niall scored his fourth goal and Dom made the final score 7-0. The second game saw another great performance and a win with Connor and Dominic the men of the matches. The Under 10’s played Billingham at Sunnydale, they contested well in the first half and it was 0-0 at the break. A few team changes in the second half and the visitors got ahead. A penalty from Lewis was the only Aycliffe goal scored in a game that ended in defeat. Noah was the games man of the match. The Under 11 Russell Foster league team played away against HFC United Hoops and came out 3-2 winners. They dominated the opening minutes but fell behind after a good finish by the HFC striker. Noah’s curling shot drew the game level at the start of the second half.

The hosts got back in front but Sam equalised after a great passing move to make it 2-2. Reuben got the winner after a goal mouth scramble, the boys had all played really well to ensure the win. The Under 11 TJFA league side played an entertaining game against Stockton Town Yellows. The Aycliffe side dominated early possession but Stockton scored from two breaks and led 2-0. Charlie pulled one back before half time to make the interval score 2-1. A slow start to the second half and Aycliffe were 3-1 down. The lads stuck to the task though and a well hit goal from Evan came before Lucas equalised. With the game in the balance at 3-3 both sides had chances to win but no further goals came so this one ended in a draw. The Under 12’s were beaten 3-1 away at Leven and the Under 15’s put in a great effort against table topping Cleveland Juniors with Hynes, Burrows and Pattinson scoring in a 4-3 loss. The Under 17’s, who sit in second place in their league played third placed Great
Ayton away. Lewis showed great pace to latch on to a through ball and finish from a tight angle to put Aycliffe ahead. The second goal was almost a carbon copy with Sam providing the ball for Lewis to finish and double the lead. Another good move was finished by Dan H and it was 3-0 at half time. A penalty from Sam was cancelled out by a Great Ayton goal and the game ended 4-1. The defensive players Jack, Tom, Arran, Joe and Dan R were all outstanding in this game
