Lifeline Community Action holds their Job Club in the PCP at Cobblers Hall in Newton Aycliffe on a Tuesday Morning and after only two weeks has achieved their first success with one of their participants successfully securing themselves a Job.   The Job Club aims to help people back to work by providing a personal service which gives people both practical and emotional support to meet their personal needs while looking for work. Sessions cover practical topics such as identifying strengths & skills, CV writing and interview techniques.  The sessions build confidence and self-esteem which is often low in those people who have been out of work for a long time.  Lifeline Community Action Coordinator and Job Club Coach Pauline Chambers said “My Co- Job Club Coach Linzi Nicholls and I were absolutely thrilled when we received the email to say that one of our participants had been successful at her interview after only two weeks on our course.  People who have been out of work for a long time often forgets what skills and attributes they already have and our sessions will help them rediscover these as well as learn or update new ones.” Places on the current course are still available and it runs until the end of November.  The sessions start at 9.30am and finish at 12.30pm and include lunch.  If you would like to come along email paulinechamberslca@gmail. com or telephone 07746111385 alternatively drop in on Tuesday morning.
