The one and only Mr TJ Johnson is on his way again to Darlington New Orleans Jazz club for its 2nd November gig – and it’s going to be a hot one.

Pianist and jazz & blues singer TJ Johnson and his band always put on a brilliant show that blends jazz, blues, soul, country and gospel. It’s a true reflection of their appreciation of the music of Ray Charles, Dr John, Louis Armstrong, Johnny Cash, BB King, Nina Simone, Alberta Hunter, Jimmy Witherspoon and many more.

TJ will be supported by regular tenor sax virtuoso Al Nicholls, with Jack Cotterill on drums, while two outstanding young talents will complete the band’s line-up at St Augustine’s: guitarist Kourosh Kanani and bassist Simon Read.

A great afternoon of world class music is guaranteed and Darlington New Orleans Jazz Club’s gigs are only £10 per time on the door. There’s no charge for young people 15 and under. The Club meets at St Augustine’s Parish Centre, Larchfield Street, Darlington, where there’s plenty of free onsite parking. Doors open at noon for a 12:30pm start.

If you don’t want to drive, the Parish Centre is just a short walk from the bus stops on Tubwell Row and Darlington railway station. For more information go to www.darlingtonjazz.co.uk
