Greenfield Community College were given the opportunity to host an inspirational speaker to talk to Year 10 students about how to live positive digital lives.
Chris Gentle, from ‘Speakers for Schools’, travelled from London to address students and give sound advice as to how to get the best from digital platforms and how they can be used in positive ways for learning and business. The motivational speaker inspired and motivated students as Mr Gentle describes how he had worked his way up in business through hard work and resilience and was now committed to sharing his experience to young people.
The speaker, originally from Yorkshire, is an entrepreneur and senior business advisor, he has worked for the European Commission and is passionate about creating jobs and growth in Britain and contributing to learning. He has also been keen to take on a challenge as he has climbed Kilimanjaro, cycled from Paris to Bordeaux and intrigued students with his visits to Moscow.
Assistant Headteacher, Mr John Richardson was delighted with the day and was thrilled with the response from the students. “We were privileged to welcome such an inspirational speaker, a big thanks to Chris Gentle for making the trip to Greenfield. We are committed to working with ‘Speakers for Schools’ to continue to extend and develop learning within our school. What great insight from a careers perspective and a different way of looking at digital platforms for future business.”
