Chemical company, INOVYN, with a site at Newton Aycliffe has today agreed to provide financial support to a great cause, Great Aycliffe Cancer Support Group.
INOVYN is pleased to be providing financial support to the Group, which will mean they can continue with their regular meetings well into 2017.
The Great Aycliffe Cancer Support Group are a friendly social group, who welcome anyone who has been affected by cancer. They hold regular monthly meetings on the first Thursday of every month from 6.00-7.30pm at the Newton Aycliffe Youth Centre – with the exception of August and January.
The Group, which was set up by Allison White, a cancer sufferer herself, helps those affected by cancer in many ways including providing information on issues that affect cancer patients, offering regular social activities including day trips. Allison has helped many people since the group was set up in 2014 and is clearly a lifeline for some.
Andy Heyes, Site Manager at the Newton Aycliffe site said: “This is a great cause and we were only too happy to provide financial support. Allison gives so much to those people in need of both emotional and practical support that we were compelled to help out and support the Group.”
Allison White, founder of the Great Aycliffe Cancer Support Group said: “I am really grateful to INOVYN for supporting the Group, without this type of support we would find it difficult to help those who need help to face and fight cancer and make sure they know that they are not alone.’
