After hearing a moving account of the plight of children in the Kumi tribe in Uganda by Mrs Elspeth Robinson, who supports the charity, the Inner Wheel decided to finance the schooling of one of the children. Lazarus, a blind boy of twelve, was chosen and having had no education he now attends a nearby school for the blind and the club have supplied him with the necessary clothes and books. They will continue to do so for the duration of his schooling.
