Award-winning baby class provider Baby Sensory™ offers resources to support baby’s development and well-being during stressful lockdown period for parents.

Baby Sensory offers sensory experiences and ideas for parents that promote infant well-being and support to their development. They advocate “precious early learning” and firmly believe that the experiences in this first stage of life lay the foundation for future learning.

Dr Lin Day explains, “The newborn’s brain is only a quarter of adult size, but by the end of the first year, it will have doubled in volume. This growth is largely due to the trillions of neural connections, which allow messages to be passed from one area of the brain to another. These connections are the direct result of events and experiences encountered from birth.”

Baby Sensory is confident in their approach to offer an environment rich in sensory exploration and learning opportunities. Every activity is accompanied by clear explanations and the benefits to baby’s learning and development. It’s clearly something parents appreciate voting Baby Sensory the winner of the What’s On for Little One’s “Best National Baby Activity” 2019.

While face to face sessions are halted, parents have been able to still build on baby’s development, create special one-to-one moments, gain play ideas and even have some much-needed social interaction with other parents through Baby Sensory’s move to online classes.

Baby Sensory @ Home provides to families ideas for creative play, massage, tummy time, movement, visual development, textures, scents and music in simple practical ways that can be easily repeated at home. They use a combination of original and traditional songs and rhymes to develop early speech and language skills, and sensory signing activities to help parents and baby communicate from birth.

Baby Sensory Class Leader, Kate Lawless, in Darlington, “Being able to offer our award-winning classes online has been so important to our families because it has provided them with some much-needed social interaction, and a little bit of routine and normality through these strange times! I’d love to welcome new families to our Baby Sensory @ Home programme this summer.”
