No pictures of me group picking up litter, or out and about clearing up The Burn, doing this or that. I prefer to keep low key and just do what I do.
You would, however, if you look for me), see me quietly tucked away in the corner at The Phoenix Club monthly disco as Chairman of the All Disabilities Matter charity, setting it up, transporting all the gear and storing it. Monthly free movie nights at various venues for the most vulnerable, designing / building and putting together the free Santa’s Grotto in the town centre, last December, with an amazing team of volunteers, all volunteering, just like myself. You also won’t know, that myself and my wife, Jaci, championed and created (with DCC), the very first disabled recreation ride put into Newton Aycliffe, over 15 years ago.
Digitising the NHS Hospital Passport for anyone to use and posting it online for all to access, for the infirm, disabled or hard of sight. You won’t see me out there doing ‘love hearts’ standing over stuff either. I am standing as an Independent candidate for County Council to try and ‘do more’. No politics, no promises, no broken promises, I’ll just do what I do in the best way I can. To do more though, I’ll need you to vote for me – voted in (or not), I’ll still keep doing what I do.
Tony Beddard, Independent.
