Standing for both the County Council and Town Council in West Ward, Arun and Ken are working closely together, as they have done as members in the Great Aycliffe Residents’ Association and in the Friends of West Park. They offer experience and ability, and from living in the community state: “We give our commitment to put you, the Community, First.” Labour is fielding a candidate for the Town Council in Newton Aycliffe who lives in Darlington, this is not what the people of Great Aycliffe expect from Labour. Cllr Arun Chandran Cllr Ken Robson

They are no different from the Tories and the Greens who are fielding candidates from Peterlee and Sherburn to represent our  Town. It’s time for a change, remember  you want people from the Town representing you on the County and Town Councils –  Remember – Quality Counts. Vote for people with a proven record of public service who live in the Ward and put you first not Party, or self. I  lived in Middridge with my parents who had a farm from 1952 until they retired many years later. I was a long distance lorry driver with an an articulated vehicle for nearly forty years  all over England, France and Spain. We owned a General Haulage Business and delivered products from Black & Decker in Spennymoor to their factory in Spain and picked up loads of various goods to bring back to England. In 1996 we moved back to Newton Aycliffe where I started to work in our Community after deciding to give up long distance driving. In 2002 I became a Town Councillor and in 2005 a County Councillor. There was a lot to learn, but I enjoyed working with the young people in the community, those in care and older people. During the last four years when I lost my seat due to boundary changes I have never given up on my Community and worked just as hard and conscientiously  as when I was an elected member. I have devoted a lot of time to the elderly in our Community as I feel that they need a stronger voice to put their views forward and be heard and I would like to be their representative on the council.. I hope  you will vote for me as an Independent at the forthcoming elections and give me a chance to represent you all Dorothy Bowman.
