Residents Invited to Help Complete Great Aycliffe’s Neighbourhood Plan

The Great Aycliffe Neighbourhood Plan (GANP) team would like to invite residents to attend a Special Meeting on Saturday 21st February 2015 from 10am till 12 noon in Newton Aycliffe Youth and Community Centre.
Residents of Aycliffe have set the priorities for the Great Aycliffe Neighbourhood Plan. 1268 individuals took part in the first round of consultation and over 10,000 comments are being analysed.
There are three priorities for the plan; to improve the retail offer, the environment and protection of the green spaces and also address the town’s housing issues.
Angela Corner, Community Neighbourhood Engage-ment Officer, will provide an overview of the first round of consultation and explain the next steps. There will be a chance to meet the GANP team who will try and answer your questions.
We now need public representatives to get involved in the next stages of the plan. Residents who are aged 14 or over, who can spare a few hours a month for three or four meetings, and would like to get involved in planning the future of the town, are being urged to attend and volunteer.
Angela Corner said “We have already received a lot of interest from residents including students from Woodham Academy, Greenfield Community College and St John’s College.
It’s great to see our young residents getting involved in planning their future and as the plan will be around for the next 20 years they will also be planning the future for their children.”
If you require any further information, or want to get involved, but can’t attend the event please contact Angela Corner  by telephone 01325 300700 or email angela.corner@great-aycliffe.gov.uk
