Residents and the team at HC-One’s Defoe Court Care Home in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham have received a very generous and kind Christmas donation from local legend, Honest John.

‘Honest’ John Hilton first set up his fundraising stall in 2007, with the aim to raise money for those in need in the local community.

Families in Newton Aycliffe donate items to Honest John for him to sell the items on and all money raised is donated back into the local community.

Each year John gives a Christmas donation to care homes in Newton Aycliffe, and this year the Residents at Defoe Court were thrilled to receive a donation of £250 for their comfort fund.

Defoe Court are holding a Christmas Fair on 1st December from 2.00 to 4.00pm, join them for a range of festive activities – everyone is welcome.
