Before John Clare was elected as a County Councillor he taught History in Newton Aycliffe at Greenfield College for 32 years. John was much loved by students for the extrovert and enthusiastic manner he brought to teaching.
He says the history of the town and Aycliffe is not only interesting but nationally significant.
His presentation as Guest Speaker for the Bishop Auckland Civic Society picks up as the last Ice-Age retreats, and will take the listener on an exciting journey through time.
