A talk entitled “The Guests of Queen Victoria” by David Butler to be given in Middridge Village Hall, on Thursday 11th January at 7.30pm. Refreshments are included and everyone is most welcome.

In the 1851 census for Durham, 226 inhabitants were listed, who would have wished themselves anywhere else than within the grim walls of Durham Prison.

David explores the system of justice which led to their imprisonment, the crimes they had committed and examines one or two of their stories in greater detail.
