The Helping Hands team know there are hundreds of children in Newton Aycliffe that live in families that can’t afford a trip to the seaside – far less a simple holiday.

We are delighted to have helped over 100 disadvantaged people get that much needed break away this year and quite a few of our guests were people that read about our offer of bursary holidays through the Newton News.

Most of our families face daily hardship made worse by things like illness, bereavement or disability. We are well aware that family holidays really can hold a special place in our memories as parents and as children and Helping Hands have tried hard this year to make those memories extra special! As a team we want to help build stronger, happier families, as this is so importance to us. And these are some of the reasons why we offer these holidays.

This year people have had many new experiences, opportunities and challenges that we have all shared and now reminisce about and it’s been wonderful!

One of our guests who lost a child through tragic circumstances said ‘this break meant the world to our family’. Another family that has suffered many illnesses said ‘if we hadn’t have read the Newton News article we would never have been on this beautiful holiday it has make a real difference to our family’s stability and happiness.

If you’d like to be considered for this bursary holiday in 2015 Please e-mail lifeline.action@googlemail.com explaining why you feel you need a much-needed holiday.

Also any support anyone can provide as a donor, who, like us, understand the benefits of a break to our underprivileged families, will be much appreciated.

Please e-mail lifeline.action@googlemail.com for more information on how you can support them. Working together we can give families a much needed break!
