Expert help is at hand for people researching their family tree. Durham County Record Office is inviting people to sign up for its latest series of family history courses.
Sessions are run by an archivist aimed at anyone who is beginning the process of researching their family tree or are in the early stages.
Courses cover use of the census, parish and military records, with the opportunity to explore sources from Durham County Record Office.
Dawn Layland, education and outreach archivist, said: “Our family history courses always prove popular, with participants picking up some useful hints and tips on tracing their family members.”
The weekly sessions run from Thursday 26 February to Thursday, 12 March, with the option to attend from 10am to noon or from 6pm to 8pm.
The course costs £25 and places must be booked in advance by calling 03000 267 626 or emailing record.office@durham.gov.uk
