Heighington U11’s were away to 1st division Billingham Synthonia in the Challenge Cup. In a hard fought game the home side took the lead after a scramble in the box resulting in an own goal. Both sides had chances, but went into the break with just the one goal separating the two teams.
Heighington came out much the sharper team and equalised through Owen Evans with a good strike from just inside the box. Heighington extended their lead midway through the second half with a cool finish from Alistair Garrow, but the home side hit back again with a really good worked goal from a good cross. A minute later Heighington keeper Charlie Harrison pulled off an amazing save to keep the game all square.
But with extra time looming the ball broke to Owen Evans on the right and he put in a delightful ball for Callum Fraser to slot the ball home to send Heighington into the next round well done boys.
