Heighington u13’s played Newton Aycliffe juniors this week in the league . This was a highly anticipated match and one Heighington had never been able to win previously. The match, as expected started as a high tempo game with both teams trying the get the first goal. Aycliffe Juniors dominated the first half and tested man of the match Luke Aitken who pulled off some fantastic saves and managed to keep the score to 1 nil to the visitors at half time.

The half time team talk must have went down well as Heighington started the 2nd half with a passion we had not seen in the first half and quickly settled the score line with a great goal from Leo Umudi which put us level. The boys continued to dominate and remained focussed and soon after Curtis Wright scored a goal to put us in front.

Knowing the win was in sight, the lads continued with fantastic team work and it was not long before Curtis wright rounded the keeper to put Heighington 3-1 up. Aycliffe juniors pulled it back to 3-2 late on but Heighington managed to hold on for a well deserved 3 points. A fantastic game from both sides with great respect shown to both teams from the players.

Heighington u7’s hosted St Mary’s Kings this Week in the Boys first home game of the season. Heighington started with Louie in Goal, Tyler at the back with Kyleo and Kenzi ahead of him and Skipper Alex up top. Heighington struggled to find a rhythm in the first half as some resolute defending from the away side kept them at bay. Although Heighington did have chances, they weren’t clinical enough and the sides went in at the break honours even. The second half Heighington dropped Alex in at the back next to Tyler, which seemed to give the boys more balance and Kenzi quickly opened the scoring from the angle after Kyleo set him up. Kenzi then added a second sliding home from close range before completing his Hat Trick after another assist from Kyleo.

Alex then rifled home the 4th. St Mary’s pulled a deserved goal back before Louie then saved a penalty as St Mary’s pushed. However the scoring was finished a hard fought 4-1 win for Heighington

The second game Kieran started in Goal with Maddix and Liam who had another great game at the back and Archie and Zane up top. Strange start to the second game as Maddix ran to the touchline to give his dad his tooth that had just fallen out! St Mary’s then took the lead, before Zane drilled home from the edge of the box to equalise for his 2nd this season.

Archie than slotted in the 2nd with an assist from Maddix, St Mary’s equalised but then with a small squad started to tire, Heighington took advantage of this with a debut goal from Maddix and Kenzi and Kyleo finishing the scoring at 5-2. Man of the match for the first game went to Kenzi, the second game was Maddix, and Player of the day was given to Zane
