Heighington AFC Boys New Team Recruiting new U14 team for next season who are starting to train now, contact Mark Stapleton, on 07443621876 if you are interested in becoming involved
Under 7s: Heighington Under 7s travelled to the Darlington 21st All Stars Tournament on Sunday hoping to replicate their previous week’s tournament success.
Unfortunately for Heighington they were drawn in the “group of death” including eventual Finalists Seaton Carew Lions and Boro Rangers. The boys battled hard in every game as usual and can be proud of their efforts. They lost 3 games and won the final game 1-0 thanks to a Goal from player of the tournament Layton Collier.
There were a lot of positives including debuts for Harry Surman and Rhys Harcus. under 7s now look forward to the Seaton Carew Tournament next weekend.
Under 9s: U9s played away to Wynyard juniors in their first game together as a new group. The boys played 2 good games of football for 1st game as a team, lads panicked in front of goal and nerves set in a little, but overall lads did well and we are proud of them all.
Game 1 lost 3 , 0, man of the match was Kai Demby our goalkeeper
Game 2 lost 4 , 1 man of the match was our goal scorer Jack Milner
We had a lot of chances to score in both games but lads were unlucky at times
Under 14s: Heighington U14’s welcomed Division5 Champions Hardwick Youth, for a home friendly. Although dominating the majority of the first half, the home side could only register a 1-0 advantage, thanks to Captain Jamie Stapleton’s low strike. In the second half shooting down hill and with the wind, the home team stepped up a gear, firstly Adam Scott finishing neatly after a killer ball from Roman Alves. In control of the match, and with and injured Bailey Howarth, who went on and scored 3 in quick succession, before James Le Poidevin, grabbed the goal of the game, with a 25 yard strike, to make it 6-0, so a pleasing result and team performance
All age groups are always looking for new players, so If you would like to get involved with any of our teams please contact David Brassell on: 07870 777779 or david.brassell@hotmail.co.uk
