Heighington Under 8’s (Year 3 at school currently) are seeking new players to join our fantastic club. We currently have a superb nucleus of players and are looking to gain more members to our terrific squad. We train Thursday Nights 5-6pm at Heighington Parish Fields and play in the TJFA league on Sunday mornings. If your child would like to come along to training no matter what their experience, please don’t hesitate to contact Manager Dan Lewis on 07545 696847
Our Under 7’s entered the Seaton Carew Tournament looking for their second Cup win of the Summer. In the group Stages Heighington met Seaton Carew Tigers in the first game, goals from Joe Neild, Tyler Woodward and debutant Jay Bulch were enough to win the game 3-1.
Heighington looked composed at the back thanks to Layton Collier. In the second game Heighington beat Seaton Carew Pumas 1-0 with a wonderful solo goal from Tyler Woodward. Theo Callaghan and Thomas Graham linked extremely well up front together throughout the game. The Final game with qualification already assured saw Heighington lose 3-1 to a very strong Hebburn side.
On to the Semi Finals and waiting for Heighington were Seaton Carew Lions. The boys got a off to a flyer, Jay Bulch racing through to put them 1-0 up only for Seaton to equalise almost immediately.
Oliver Paylor in goal made some fantastic saves to keep the game at 1-1 and took the game to penalties. Unfortunately the boys lost the shoot-out but can be very very proud of their efforts. Final tournament of the summer this Saturday.
Under 9’s entered the Mount Pleasant tournament last weekend and we were proud of every single player. The boys had a tough group made up of 1st and 2nd division teams. First game was lost 4-1 against North Ormesby and the boys looked nervous, but did well. Jack Milner scored our goal. Second game was lost 3-1 to Leam Rangers again Jack Milner scored.it could have gone either way as we had a lot of chances. Game 3 was lost 3-0 to Shotton Colts, but another great effort from the lads. Final game saw us lose to Middleton Rangers 1-0 but once again a great effort from the boys who were unlucky.
I was very proud of the kids in their first tournament as a team, as big improvements have been made. Thanks to parents for their support.
Man of the Tournament was our goalie for some great saves throughout the day
