UNDER 7’s entered the Alun Armstrong Summer Tournament last week in their final tournament of the Summer. The boys also entered this competition at Christmas after being together just a few weeks, but lost every game. This time around was to be very different as the boys finished second in their group of six playing some fantastic Football in each game. We met Montagu Blues in the Semi Final and put in one of the best youth footballing performances I have ever seen, winning 6-2.
Special mention must go to Captain Joe Neild for scoring a goal way beyond his years. It was a special moment and sealed our place in the Final against Alun Armstrong Academy. Unfortunately the Final was a step too far for our very tired team, although we pushed the opposition all the way and only just lost 4-2. It was a great way to finish off our tournaments for the Summer which included a Winners Medal, Runners up Medal and a Semi Final Shootout defeat. The boys are raring to go for their first ever season starting September
UNDER 9’s hosted Seaton Carew this week. Game 1 was lost 3-2 but a good even game. All lads played great, our only goal scorer was Ewan Henderson with a strike from outside the box, but overall team was impressive. Game 2: lost 2-0 again but whole team played very well, in every position. We had chances to score but didn’t take them, but the team is going in the right direction.
All age groups are always looking for new players, so if you would like to get involved with any of our teams please contact David Brassell on: 07870 777779 or david.brassell@hotmail.co.uk
