Heighington 10 v Deerness Valley 1
A very windy morning at Durham was always going to cause problems for Heighington as they tried to play football rather than going long. Heighington lads started very fast and dominated the play from the 1st second and not letting up throughout the game. Played some good football on the ground and started to pass the ball around really well. Some of the goals scored by Oliver, Oskar, Isaac, Tommy & Seth were excellent in terms of the passing and movement of the ball and I’m very pleased with how they took their chances.
Deerness only had one shot which managed to sneak past the oncoming GK Oskar Raine.
Throughout the game there was plenty of running and strong dribbling from all the lads.
Goals: Isaac 3, Tommy 2, Oskar 1, Seth 2, Oliver 2.
Parents MOM: Joint MOM this week with 2 votes each for Isaac Turnbull and Managers MOM: Tommy Craddock, well done lads excellent performance.
Managers MOM: I gave John the chance to offer MOM today and he went for someone who thoroughly deserved the award for working very hard and scoring such excellent goals. Today it went to Tommy Craddock.

Heighington U10’s 7 v Blackhall Monks 4
Our captain Lucas Faulkner fired his team ahead inside the first minute of what was to be a great match to follow. Some fantastic football played by both sides saw that both sets of defence were given a stern test and Lucas getting his brace, courtesy of a penalty given for handball. Will Farrow scored a fantastic hat trick which included a clinical free kick and a great solo to finish the scoring. The ever improving Tyler Keyes and Oliver Yates bagged themselves a goal each in an end to end game.
The full squad got a good run out with a performance that showed plenty of grit and determination. With Matthew Brown who made some outstanding saves and Will Farrow Sharing the MOTM award, all the boys can be proud of the effort they put into this one. Well done everyone.
Heighington U10’s 8 v Coxhoe Utd Blacks 0 – Second game in two days for the Under 10’s this weekend but no signs of tired legs today. Blustery conditions and mole hills didn’t prevent the boys from putting on a fantastic display, which they can be proud of, despite the fact the goals blew away on more than one occasion! Four goals from Lucas, and a goal each for Will, Jonah, Matty and Logan brought home the points and a fantastic defensive display from Dan, James, Jamie and Tyler secured a well earned clean sheet along with a penalty save from Matty. Well done to all involved, the boys should be proud of themselves.
MOTM was shared between Lucas, for a striking masterclass, and Jamie, for the outstanding team attitude he has shown all weekend, covering almost every position.
Many thanks to the SASH HARDWARE gang for their kind sponsorship of our boys this year.

Teesside Sports RTC 2 v Heighington AFC 3
They Mighty Red and Blacks were back to winning ways this week. After a tough few weeks the lads dug deep and really fought hard for this victory. After taking a 3 nil lead, Teesside suddenly found a new lease of life and pushed the lads right to the end and didn’t give us any time on the ball. Brilliant match for the neutral but nail biting for the Heighington family. Goals scored: Jack x1, Ted x1, Luca x1. MoM: jointly went to Luca and Ollie A. Both players were immense and worked hard throughout. Luca covered the central midfield and dominated throughout. The opposition couldn’t keep up with him. Ollie playing right back, won every challenge he attempted and didn’t shy away from headers.
