A local Dance Teacher “Braved the Shave” on Sunday 23rd August. Diane Plews, principal of Macadam School of Dance had her hair shaved off to support Macmillan’s “Brave the Shave” campaign for cancer support.
Diane who has sported many crazy hair colours dreamt she had this done and the next day the campaign popped up on Facebook giving her the incentive to do it!
Diane said “Cancer affects so many of us, I’ve lost family and friends and we currently have one of our mothers fighting Breast Cancer so anything I can do to help is good! I can choose to do this many don’t have the choice.” Her target was £1,000 but it is currently £1,600 and donations are still coming in.
Diane said “I can’t thank everyone enough for their amazing support, especially those who came along to the studio to see it happen! Now all the kids have got to get used to no hair instead of a change of colour!”. Donations can still be made if you search Diane Plews on the ‘Brave the Shave’ site.
