Police and Crime Commissioner, Joy Allen, is today (Thursday 22 July) launching a survey for members of the public to share their views about local policing in County Durham and Darlington.

The Commissioner is asking residents, businesses, community, and voluntary sector organisations to share their views as she begins to develop a new Police and Crime Plan for the Force Area.

Once fully developed, the Plan will set out the policing and crime priorities for the next three years.

PCC Joy Allen said: “Throughout my campaign, I spent a lot of time reaching out and listening to the people of County Durham and Darlington on their priorities when it comes to local policing.

“From these discussions as well as my Crime Survey I conducted last year, several priority areas emerged which I have captured in my Police and Crime Plan including anti-social behaviour, road safety and drug use and dealing.

“Six broad themes that are covered in the plan include, Safer Communities, Safer People, Safer Online, Safer Roads, Safer Countryside and Safer Business.

“I am keen to hear ideas and any local concerns about community safety and ways we can improve our approach with the force and partners moving forward.

“I would be grateful to residents, business owners, community and voluntary sector organisations across County Durham and Darlington to take the time to complete my survey and have your say on what matters most in your community.”

The Commissioner’s survey launches today (22 July) and runs for 4 weeks until Thursday 19 August 2021. A link to the survey can be found here: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/VS3KTX9
