During the summer holidays children at St. Mary’s primary were invited to take up the challenge of creating their own recycling poster, which was part of a competition ran by an organisation called Wastebusters. The idea was for the children to be as creative as possible, describing different ways they can recycle things around their homes.

Harry Hickman, a year 4 pupil at St. Mary’s Primary in Newton Aycliffe, created his poster during the summer holidays, he then took a photo of his poster and uploaded it to the website.

He discovered last week that he had come fifth in the challenge and had won a prize. Then on Thursday he received his certificate, science kit and bag. He is looking forward to making up some of the items in his Science pack. Harry absolutely loves Science, so we can’t wait for him to bring some of his creations into school. Well done Harry, we are so proud of you!
