Holiday activities have been a big hit during the May half-term break. Greenfield Arts have once again been on the move holding free creative workshops at both Newton Aycliffe and Foundations Building, Shildon. The family focused activities were enjoyed by both children and adults in equal measure as they spent time together having fun and producing some fabulous creations.

Talented tutor Dawn Belshaw was on hand at Shildon where everyone got the chance to create their own magical fairy or pirate house, they were fabulous creations using a range of recycled materials and a sprinkle of fairy dust! The young people were very proud of their little houses and were keen to take them away with them to a new home.

Aycliffe families were again busy working together. Artist Sharron Bates led a lovely session giving expert guidance as everyone made a special memory box with collage materials. Once complete the young people filled their boxes with special messages to themselves, their hopes and dreams and aspirations. They had a lovely time and took their treasures home with them to use for the future. Positive feedback from the groups showed that both activities had sparked imaginations in all ages and a confidence to continue to do more at home and at school.

Greenfield Arts are thrilled to see young people getting the chance to get creative and enjoy family activities.
