The wait was over for students from Greenfield Community College on Thursday when they collected their GCSE results following the exams during the summer term. Understandably anxious young people were supported by parents, carers and staff from both campuses as the envelopes were opened and results discovered.

The college are celebrating some fantastic results including some stand out individual performances from Christina Davis, Aidan Wong (including an elusive grade 9 in Maths), Charlotte Hugill, Connor Elston, Millie Tezcan-Fotoohi, Katie and Rachel Lovelass, Max Hunter (including an elusive grade 9 in English) and Brydon Kenney. Many students also made spectacular progress throughout their studies. Despite the recent changes to GCSE specifications several subject areas stood out with exceptional results. Once again the arts subjects performed particularly highly whilst Physical Education also produced record results.

Greenfield teachers look forward to welcoming the class of 2017 back in November for the GCSE presentation evenings held at both campuses. David Priestley Executive  Headteacher said ‘We are very proud of the achievements of our young people and wish them every success as they move to the next phase of education or training.’
