Year 9 students from Greenfield Community College have been given the opportunity to explore more about emotional support and how simply talking to others can be so important.

A visit from professional staff from the organisation ‘If You Care Share’ gave a valuable insight into handling mental health issues and how sharing with others is so important and helpful.

Students were able to access workshops and learn about ways to talk to each other and staff about mental health in a ‘fun and engaging way’. The sessions were well received as Assistant Headteacher Ms Davies states, “the students found it a really valuable experience and were able to ask questions and learn some useful strategies, I was very proud of the way they engaged, thank you to all of the team from ‘If You Care Share’ for making it such a worthwhile experience.”

Students and staff at Greenfield have also been showing they care in practical ways, raising funds to show their support for the organisation and fellow students, giving up their time to take part in organised walks in memory of student Evan Morgan.
