Greenfield Community College are very proud of the many aspects of student achievement and their positive engagement with a range of learning methods over recent months.

Students have worked hard to embrace the many changes that have been a feature of their recent learning, alongside continual support from tutors and expert teaching.

The school have been recognised for their commitment to studies and their positive use of the range of online resources. The Director of Improvement in English, confirmed that Greenfield is in the top 7% of all schools who use the GCSEpod learning site and the school have been awarded a shield and £150 in prizes for their outstanding performance. They have watched over 42000 pods and completed 543 assignments. A spokesperson described the school as ‘phenomenal’ and had ‘never seen a school like it’.

Consultant in Teaching and Learning, Mrs McKie, is also thrilled with the achievements in Maths and the remarkable number of questions that have been completed using the Hegarty Maths platform.

Recent figures show that since 21st March, top performers include: Year 7 McKenzie, 2080; Karl, 1822 and Logan, 1234, Year 8, Robert 2612, Adam 2576, and Rose 1957 Year 9, Levi 3656, Declan 1385 and Sophie 1334, Year 10 Rhys, 2360 Faith 2182 and Skye 1922. Well done to all students who have been making the most of this resource. “These figures on the numbers of questions completed are simply phenomenal. Keep being awesome” Mrs McKie.

Students have been working across the curriculum to make progress and continue to achieve as self-led learners, their resilience has been extraordinary. Individuals have taken up reading challenges and groups of students have given their own time to help create and produce valuable resources for students next term.

Staff have been diligent and innovative providing resources, continual support, hosting campaigns and competitions to inspire and encourage learning.

Greenfield Community College are now looking forward to celebrating GCSE results with Year 11 leavers and welcoming the whole school back in September to a safe and secure learning environment.
