Students from Greenfield Community College have been extending their language studies. Recently our Year 9 ‘Language Detectives’ graduated from their recent journey into different modern languages in conjunction with Durham University.
The students visiting were welcomed with a tapas lunch hosted by Chairman of Durham County Council, Councillor Stelling and Councillor Sterling. The students were given a brilliant opportunity to learn more, with insights from students and lecturers into what it’s like to study languages at Durham University, as well as learning new skills and solving language puzzles.
The students really engaged in activities and were really impressed with the experience, students remarked:
“It was great to learn about new cultures and languages”, “It was very insightful” “Don’t live your life boxed in – learn a language!”.
Thank you to all of our students for making this such a successful visit and to our hosts who made the occasion possible.
