Last week saw the first of many upcoming specialist arts workshops at Greenfield Arts. We started with a night of Safe Etching with artist Jilly Greenwood, and have more exciting workshops planned.
On Thursday a group of artists, creative and interested members of the community learnt the processes and techniques involved in etching, from cutting and cleaning an aluminium plate, to coating it, drawing an image and etching. It’s a lengthy and messy process but well worth it in the end! The participants created some fantastic etchings, which would be at home on any gallery wall.
All those who attended last week’s workshop had a great evening experimenting with the technique, and we are looking forward to the other sessions in the future!
A Course guide for the Summer term is released, and includes a number of specialist arts opportunities as well as long standing and popular language, fitness and wellbeing courses. For more information visit our website www.greenfield-arts.co.uk.
