On Wednesday 22nd June over 200 students from the Aycliffe and Sunnydale Campuses took part in their first ‘Race for Life’. The students managed the 5k on a glorious summer afternoon running in an array of fancy dress for this heart felt cause. Many students and their families have been affected by this disease and the pupils were determined to make their friends and family proud, alongside raising a huge amount for Cancer Research UK.

Since it was Greenfield’s first ‘Race for Life’ the school set a target of raising £500. However, this target was smashed and the grand total was £3,452.72. An overwhelming amount and we are extremely proud of our students. The success of the event has meant as a school we are planning a similar event every summer, where staff and students can continue the fight against cancer.
