Greenfield Community College in Newton Aycliffe and Shildon have been involved in double celebrations this week.
Mrs Sue Snowdon the Lord Lieutenant of County Durham presented certificates and awards on both campuses of Greenfield.  The school has good reason to be proud of superb results for all the class of 2015.
Those in Aycliffe secured their place in the Greenfield tradition of high levels of achievement while the rates of progress in Shildon were outstanding.
On Thursday 19th November Mrs Snowden joined Governors and friends of the school in Newton Aycliffe to celebrate the achievements of a year group who have helped create the special Greenfield ethos.  Mrs Snowden heard how in lessons the class of 2015 were resilient and hardworking setting themselves high expectations.  They made the most of every opportunity, whether performing to audiences, campaigning, using sporting awards, organising events to support well-being or promoting equality they approached everything with enthusiasm. The class of 2015 also excelled in academic achievement with excellent headline figures, strong EBacc results, some exceptional levels of progress in English and huge success across a range of subjects.
The school is very proud of al the year group but special awards were made to the following students on the Aycliffe campus.
The Mayor of GATC Councillor Mary Dalton awarded the Mayor’s Award for Highest Academic Achievement to Leonie Wong.
Mrs Snowden praised the students and the school for all their achievements and wished them well in the future.
