Greenfield College and Greenfield Arts were so pleased to be part of the exciting Active Aycliffe events last week. The activities organised by Lindsay Manning from the PCP were a great success.

The Arts Centre delivered sculpture making with GATC Environment Officer, Steve Cooper where healthy active people were created using recycled materials.

Some of the students from Greenfield delivered sessions in the shop after weeks of planning. We are particularly proud of those year 10 students from Greenfield who organised their “community senses” quiz where members of the public where asked to use their sense of smell, touch and taste to identify some healthy food options! This included sticking your hand in a bowl of wet spaghetti, sniffing garlic and chomping on raw garlic! It was a real test, and those who took part will be ready for the jungle next!

The students had been working with Lindsay and their teacher Miss Wharton to plan this half term family event, had helped decorate the space ready and were very excited to be part of a great community experience. Thank you to all involved.
