As part of their vision to promote and stimulate creativity, Greenfield Arts are proud to bring a range of live performances to the community. They continually offer high quality live performance opportunities through their valuable partnerships with local, regional and national arts organisations.

Live performance has been a regular part of the programme at Greenfield Arts over its 20 years, welcoming exciting and innovative productions from organisations such as Unfolding Theatre, Theatre Hullabaloo, Take Off Festival and Jabberwocky Market produced by Luxi and have been an integral part of live music performances such as Opera North and the popular Durham Brass Festival.

Students from Greenfield Community College have been able to benefit from this and engage with professional artists, learning from valuable residencies where theatre companies work alongside young people to explore creativity through extended learning. This has been a valuable addition to academic learning with live performances inspiring creative work from young people across the whole school.

Recent productions such as Rosie and Robin by Mad Alice Theatre brought generations together in a wonderful way. The show offered a free workshop which gave families a chance to enjoy the performance together and actively explore ideas. Feedback from the community was positive, just a few comments from our audience give a glimpse of the impact that they have. “Thank you for great Rose and Robin show and workshop afterwards.”…”I thoroughly enjoyed the performance and workshop”… An excellent, thought-provoking performance. Really superb!”

Creative Director, Katy Milne is delighted to develop work with partners to make this happen. Katy is developing new ideas with artists at the moment and is exploring ways to work together with performers such as Alex Elliott to support young people and the wider community to be curious, creative and enquiring through this time as things evolve. Arts partners are also working in new and exciting ways during this time including partners Theatre Hullabaloo, who are presently calling out to the community to help them produce their next show, visit their website to find out more https://www.theatrehullabaloo.org.uk/

Greenfield Arts are committed to promoting and stimulating creativity, curiosity and enquiry through a high quality arts programme to encourage the wider community to explore, ideas, express themselves to better understand themselves and the world around them.
