Greenfield Arts are a centre of creativity, offering not only a physical arts centre space but a support to creatives and groups within the community. At present the facility is closed but staff are continuing to work from home connecting with their community and exploring ways to inspire creativity and curiosity.

Greenfield Arts are presently working with a number of partners to inspire creativity in public spaces and create installations and initiatives that help us ask questions and understand ourselves and the world around us.

One of the many projects in development explores the heritage of the area and how innovation and technologies have changed over time. The Cree Group, led by Greenfield Arts, have an exciting opportunity to contribute to the significant 2025 anniversary of the Stockton to Darlington Railway.

The Cree group are a group of male volunteers who work on a variety of projects that often benefit the wider community and are a creative contribution to their own wellbeing. Their fabulous achievements can be seen at Greenfield Arts, Greenfield Community College but also in the wider community and throughout the region. The group are delighted to be part of the celebrations and will be creating a new piece to be displayed as part of the Locomotion collection.

Cree are funded by Greenfield Arts and Public Health and volunteer their time to help both the community and themselves as they participate in creative projects. “I enjoy working together with others and exploring ideas, it’s a great way to express yourself, feel good and build confidence’ Cree member.

At present physical meetings are on hold but previously the group met at Greenfield Arts on a weekly basis.
