K9 Pursuits held the Great British Bark Off and Coffee Morning on Saturday 19th October, to raise funds for Paws Up the Police Dog Benevolent Fund and The Lost Dog Trapping Team, North East.

People and their dogs were invited to come along and join us for coffee and cake and asked to enter the doggy themed baking competition.

The entries were amazing, with some very innovative bakes being placed on the table.

The event was judged by Helen Armstrong from Paxtons sandwich bar in Durham and her wonderful Great Dane Gracie.

Helen said that “the standard was very good and it was a hard job to judge the champion over all best baker”.

There were two categories, A bake for human taste buds and a bake for doggy taste buds.

The event was well attended and after the prize giving, the entries were auctioned off to raise more money.

The overall Champion of the 2019 Great British Bark Off was a super entry of an iced Victoria sponge with a cute fondant dog sitting neatly on top. The baker was Jennifer Brooke from Darlington.

The total raised on the day was £516.80 and K9 Pursuits wish to thank every one who took part and supported them.
