Dear Sir,
I noted with interest the piece in the Newton News regarding a van damaging the grass verge. We live in Greathead Crescent and if you walk down the street from the top to the turning to Gunn Lane you will see we are effectively living with what resembles a ploughed field.
Too many cars and residents park on the grass disregarding the fact that they don’t live at the house they have parked outside! Our car is garaged so that is one less. We have lived here in excess of 25 years and never have we seen so much mud on the paths.
I have never argued with neighbours and don’t intend to start now by telling them not to park there. It needs the grass removing and either replaced with tarmac or a proper bay made as at the top of Shafto Way. I have written to the Council and their reply boils down to no money. Is there any way to solve this problem?
