Either the County Council, the Landlords Livin or the householder is letting the grass grow under their feet! This is the assumption after many complaints of poor maintenance of our open grass areas.

It all started some years ago when Livin paid the County Council to cut grass owned by them, but then they found a private contractor who could do it cheaper.

Now we have grass cutters criss crossing each other to get the job done and in some instances not very well!

Town Council land is cared for immaculately with good close cutting machinery tending grass more frequently. Some house owners used to get their grass cut as they were part of a stretch of terraced houses where there was a mixture of tenants and people who had bought their property.

It may be that the landlords are now being more cost cautious and if the owners of houses aren’t looking after grass on the land they own it shows, and looks very untidy.

If you have a complaint the advice is to find out who owns the land, but if it is private property that is another question.
