Dear Sir,
May I through your most excellent Newton News, thank all of those residents who gave their time and effort to make our Diamond Jubilee celebration such a success,
Newton Aycliffe is a brilliant place to live and work, made even better by the generosity of all of the organisations in the town who have donated and helped make this event one to remember for a whole generaion of kids.
A.C.O.R.N as a fairly new group had very little funds to celebrate the jubilee but the generosity of the Leisure Centre, Great Aycliffe Town Council, County Councillors Dixon, Gittins, Paylor and Gray, West Ward Town councillor Kate Hopper, Tesco, Poundstretcher, Taylors, Newsforce, Wilkinsons, Warburtons and livin who kindly supplied souvenier mugs, bunting and buffet to lots of parties in the old Sedgefield area. May I also mention the staff and council members of all political persuations from Great Aycliffe Council for all of their advice and support in encouraging our group.
Throughout the year A.C.O.R.N hope to build up community spirit by holding fun events in our parks. Although A.C.O.R.N. is based in the town centre area we welcome interested parties to come along and join us in making Aycliffe a safe, clean, fun and prosperous place to live and bring up our families.
