On Sunday the 7th July 2019 the annual Northumberland and Durham Masters Swimming Championships were held at South Shields Haven Point swimming complex.

Matthew Bradley represented Sedgefield 75 ASC at the event.

The competition started well for Matthew with a gold in the 50 metres backstroke. Matthew followed this with gold in the 50 metres freestyle after a perfect turn at 25 metres and a powerful second length he dominated the field.

Next Matthew competed in one of his top events, the 200 metres freestyle. A strong field could not put Matthew off and he pulled away and finished over 6 seconds ahead of the rest of the field and took yet another gold medal.

The afternoon session saw Matthew compete in the five events. First up was the 100 metres I.M in which, again after turning second after the first length of butterfly, Matthew pulled back with a good backstroke then took the gold with a powerful length of breaststroke and pulled away from the field on the last freestyle length. Matthew continued the afternoon taking gold in the 50 metres breaststroke, 100 metres backstroke and the 100 metres freestyle, followed by a silver in the 50 metres butterfly.
