Sedgefield SSP ran trials to select their Wheelchair basketball team earlier this year.  Greenfield’s  Yr. 10 wheelchair basketball players were both selected to represent Sedgefield in the County Durham Finals at Maiden Castle on Friday 22nd March, along with two students from Woodham, one student from Sedgefield Community College and one student from the Oaks.

The team performed extremely well, and it was great to see the team spirit and teamwork between all players from the four schools.

After a couple of draws against Durham, Wear Valley and Teesdale, they reached the final with a 6 -0 win against Derwentside.  eventually winning the final 2 -0 to be crowned County Champions and taking the Gold medal.

Well done to Joel Wraith & Josh Jackson from Greenfield and the students from Woodham, Sedgefield and the Oaks.  A fantastic team effort and a brilliant day for all involved.
