Aycliffe swimmer Hannah Featherstone competed in the National Championships taking the Gold Medal in the 100 metres Freestyle in a time of 57:58. This was a hard fought race as she was competing against all of her GB Team mates who were entered on faster times. It’s 15 years since Angie Winstanley-Smith and Mathew Bowden won National Gold – a long wait but worth it.

She had only three days preparation following her return from the Youth Olympics in Holland. Hannah competed in the 100 Butterfly, 200 Freestyle and the 200 Backstroke and although she produced best times did not medal in these events.

The club trains on Monday’s only during the August break then it’s back to work for the new season starting in September.
