The Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP) has a huge range of activities, support and classes aimed at improving your health and making you feel better!
It offers friendly exercise sessions for all ages and levels of fitness which are delivered by fully qualified instructors. Nordic Walking is one of the newest activities that is proving very popular with people who have tried it.
Nordic walking makes use of specially designed poles to enhance the natural walking experience and is a fully body exercise which improves joint mobility as well as releasing tension in neck and shoulders whilst burning 46% more calories than normal walking.
The friendly Get Active Nordic Walking class takes place on Wednesdays 9.45am-10.45pm costing just £2 per session. And to motivate people to get fit in February, the first session is free.
Poles will be provided and the first few lessons will teach you the technique before you progress onto the walk which is led by a qualified leader around picturesque parts of the Aycliffe Way.
