Our local Car Parts Manufacturer held a Family Open Day last Saturday which included lots of fun and activities for children.
The company went to a lot of trouble and expense to ensure everyone had an interesting and exciting time including a tour of the plant which was a real eye opener. Robotics are a big part of the manufacturing process at Gestamp and one popular item for children was the sweety dispenser using a robot. There was a choice of sweets on an electronic pad which when pressed put the robot into action dropping sweets into a plastic cup which fascinated the long line of people as they queued for their treat.
There was a Grand Prize Draw and Quiz, free for all who attended, with a valuable prize to be won. Other treats included free refreshments with coffee, tea, hot and cold food, pie and peas, hot dogs etc.
The families were entertained by a magician with DJ music. They also enjoyed crafts and a raffle in aid of charity. Mini Fork Lifts was another popular attraction for the children who tried their hand at stacking storage boxes. Local Photographers “Eye Dream” were on site taking family shots to help them remember this special day and everyone went home with a goody bag.
